I have been running around and not staying at home, so didn’t have time to write (excuses, shame on me).
I decided to go back to my “healthy living phase” (I don’t include the detox of two weeks when I was only eating raw vegetables and fruits) which ended at the beginning of a year. Making resolutions for New Year and sticking to them is torture (I make the list of things which I “need” or “must” do, however, the good girl behaviour when following it last like few days). Well, you shouldn’t think I’m one of those fat cows sitting in front of TV and stuffing myself with Ben and Jerry’s (OK, sometimes I do it, I admit. Only when I’m down or before that time of the month). Body pump and body balance were (talking in past tense as it was few months ago) my favorite classes which I attended at least twice per week. It was my “feel good” drug, so I guess I could be called “gym junkie” as I went for classes and then headed to the cinema. You need to treat yourself after workout. Every time I’m picking the movie to rent or buy with my friends, they get annoyed as I have seen most of the movies on a big screen back in 2008/9. Again, I don’t draw a line: it is everything or nothing – so I believe overdoing with movies is nothing to be embarrassed (moreover, I seen all of them not alone, well apart from SAW one as no one wanted to go). I guess I’m average girl – moaning about the weight, trying fad diets, attending new classes, buying the products which must do miracles to your problematic areas. If I tell you what I have done in my life to lose the weight (oh dear, I don’t mean nothing like starving, I love my food too much and the ones who don’t, you are missing a life) – maybe next time as I’m more into telling about today’s activity.
Let’s go back to the exercising. I found a college student who is doing his last year, for his project he is offering to build the work out programme which includes different methods, also make a diet plan (I’m thinking of running to local shop to get some chocolate before it! This is desperate). We will meet up once per week for him to show the programme and evaluate the results. This will only be done for a month (think positive, Simona) – I don’t expect miracles but I hope to get into the mood of working out. What put me of working out? The local gym is so tiny that it makes me dizzy: I always have a feeling I’m going to hit the ceiling when running on the treadmill (5’11 is all enough but I swear, it is not my height, it’s the low ceilings). Oh and the best, try coming in the evening and you will do “stand and wait” workout as all the equipment is occupied. Makes me crazy! I had this idea of buying some DVD and doing the workout at home (well this idea occurred like a year ago, it is still stowed in my head and weren’t proceeding) or start running in the park (I’m not so happy about my wobbly parts being exposed).
Anyways. The first meeting is on Friday (I didn’t want to delay one more day – determination of being fit again is taking over). I can’t wait. In addition to that, I have registered for my free induction lesson with British Military Fitness (Mad women you would think, fair enough – but never say you don’t like it before you try it, it might be quiet good) – I’m already having a vision of me doing proper push ups (lame, but I can’t do full ones, blaming my height as always). Follow my updates with the progress. I’m more than happy sharing (leaking very important info about burning all those naughty deserts you were having lately) the details with you.
Oh, and it is always about feeling good when working out which means shopping for new sports outfit. All the magazines are full of those new Reebok new Easytone shoes: they look funky and they do what it is promised – this is salvation for my soul and my bum. You might be cracking now of me believing in all the commercial stuff, I don’t. I’m always difficult to convince and be influenced by advertisement (and boy, it has some power to pursuit us to commit the purchase of something we don’t really need) but… My sister had MBT shoes (I was yeah, I bet it is just one more useless product) and to my own disappointment (as I always prefer to be right, who doesn’t) I was proven wrong. Miracles didn’t happen although after having a walk in the park my calves were sore (same effect as running for an hour on the treadmill) which made me shut up and accept the defeat (MBT were working, at least you would feel some evidences of it). Maybe some of you have already tried new Reebok ones? Let’s be a bit illusional and believe that those legs and bum is easy to achieve (you just need to wear Easytone shoes while doing some workout).
